Interactive Applications

Call code from a live NX session

Introduction

Interative applications run when called from by the user inside a CAD session.

At their simplest, these applications accelerate what a designer would do, wrapping up a sequence of controlled steps perhaps with specific inputs and following agreed rules.

Example 1 - Aerofoil Dimensioning

Aerofoil dimensioning - when aerofoil geometry is changed in a company it typically is not generated inside the CAD system. As a result when that geometry gets updated it is a non-associative change in cad model. If you have a complex drawing the dimensions will need to be reattached and updated or, if the changes are gross, the layout will need to be completely updated. Using an interactive application all of the rules about how you dimension aerofoils can be built in - and complex sections (or complete drawings) can be generated with a single click.
